Notary Services
We are pleased to have several Notary Publics on staff.
- Notary Publics are generally available during normal business hours, but may be available outside of those hours by appointment. It is recommended to call to ensure that a Notary Public will be available, but walk-ins are welcome, subject to the availability of a Notary.
- Pursuant to NYS Notary Public License Law sec. 136, the Library will charge $2 per notarization. A notarization is considered to be one signature and one stamp.
- Any patron utilizing the Library’s notary services must personally appear, present a valid New York State driver’s license or other government-issued photo identification, and sign before the notary public.
- Documents in any language other than English will not be notarized at the Library unless a translator is present. The translator must present government issued ID and sign an affidavit as to the accuracy of the translation.
- Library notary publics are not attorneys licensed to practice law, and he/she may not give legal advice.
- In its discretion, the Library reserves its right to decline to provide notary services to any patron.
