The Library is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of a New York State Public Library Construction Grant in the amount of $357,731. The grant will assist the Library with costs associated with its current attic expansion and renovation project.

“We are grateful to Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr. and Sen. Kenneth P. LaValle for advocating for these funds, and for their continued support and advocacy for libraries and their projects,” said Library Director Danielle Waskiewicz.

The Library’s construction project includes the conversion of 2,750 square feet of unused space into usable space. Specifically, it includes an expansion of the children’s program room, a new multipurpose room, a new tween area, and a reconfiguration of the main floor to accommodate a more efficient flow, a new lounge area, group study and a quiet study room.

The long-awaited project completion will be celebrated at the Library on Sunday, September 15, from 1:00-3:00pm.
