The Westhampton Free Library is proud to announce that it honored Arden Faloon as its eighth community hero during a ceremony at the Library’s regular board meeting on Sept. 12 at 7:00pm. The Westhampton Beach elementary school first-grader was selected for the honor by the Library’s children’s department.
“Arden proves that even the youngest in our community can truly make a difference,” said Library Director Danielle Waskiewicz. “We are thrilled to honor her as such.”
As a dedicated student and an avid reader, Arden is always quick to help her fellow classmates with their reading assignments and homework. Outside of school, she can be found in the dance studio or checking out superhero and “Fancy Nancy” books from the Library. She also enjoys time at the beach, whether it’s cleaning up trash left behind or surfing with her dad.
“She really loves Mother Nature and taking care of the environment,” noted her father, John Faloon.
The first-grader said she is very excited to be honored and can’t wait for the ceremony.
“Arden is one of the sweetest children I have come to meet,” said children’s librarian Marie Yervasi. “She always comes to the Library with a huge smile.”
The Library’s yearlong Community Hero recognition program pays tribute to community members who embody the spirit of giving. The honorees are celebrated at the Library board’s monthly meetings.
