Summer Reading Club

The Summer Reading Club has come to an end. The last day to log in books was Friday, August 19th, and today, September 2nd, was the last day to pick up prizes. We also picked our raffle prize winners today at 12pm. The winners are listed below.

Liam Parsons won the Flag Football set, Abby Kass won the Shopkins case, Hudson Edwards won the Lego City set, and Adelina Scott was the winner of the Fitbit! The winners from our July raffle (which we picked on July 29th) are as follows: Alec Kelly won the Lego City set, Seneca White won the pool toys pack with Splish Splash tickets, Joely Schaumloffel won the pool rings set with Splish Splash tickets, and Chase Wallace won the Fitbit. We also had a number of children who won Tsum Tsum Disney stuffed animals and we gave out a total of 103 Beanie Boos!

Altogether, we had 210 children registered in the 5 to 8 year old range. There were 57 children in the birth through age 5 range, and 159 9 to 12 year olds participated in the Summer Reading Club! That’s 426 children in all!

Our 5 to 8 year old group read a total of 1062.75 hours which is about 5 hours per child and our 9 to 12 year old group read a total of 1108 hours, or around 7 hours per child. Our little ones in the birth through 5 group read 1563 picture books with their parents, siblings, grandparents, and caregivers.

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the Summer Reading Club: children, parents, teachers, family members, and caregivers alike. This would not have been possible without your help! We are so proud of our readers for their awesome job this summer and we hope that everyone keeps up the good work!
