This past Wednesday, August 9th, the Quogue Wildlife Refuge hosted the Idea Place for an after hours sunset walk! The walk was guided by educators from the Refuge. Here they are welcoming us and telling everyone about the walk before it begins:
The Quogue Wildlife Refuge is the natural habitat of many wild animals, but a number of rescue animals also call it home. Our guides explained why they keep some animals in captivity. Most of them were found injured in the wild and would not be able to survive on their own. Participants were able to draw pictures and write down information they learned in their Nature Journals.
As we walked through the trails, our guide pointed out different things and had a lot to teach us along the way!
At the Nature Center, participants were able to interact with some of the live animals that are kept at the Refuge!
We hope that everyone had a great time and learned something new! 🙂
