Paper Chain Challenge

This past Tuesday, some of our young patrons put their problem solving skills to the test with a paper chain challenge. Each participant was given one piece of construction paper (no seconds) and they had to figure out how to build the longest paper chain possible! Should they cut the paper horizontally? Vertically? Should they make a lot of little loops or really big ones? Turns out the best method was to cut as many very thin strips as possible! That was Max’s plan, our winner of the contest, with a chain that was 109 inches long! Gage’s chain was also very long at 54 inches! Great job boys, we hope to see you at our next STEM challenge!
