Kid Inventors Day

Did you know that Tuesday, January 17th was National Kid Inventors Day? Here at the library, our tweens celebrated by making their own inventions! Using empty paper towel rolls, tissue boxes, bottle caps, wooden dowels, ribbon, duct tape and more, they put their imaginations to work. One of our participants used these supplies to design a car!

National Kid Inventors Day is celebrated on Benjamin Franklin’s birthday. He himself was a great inventor! To honour his contributions to science, and to remember his birthday, we displayed books about Mr. Franklin:

Also, for any inventors with a curiosity about more inventions and inventors, we set out books about the inventors of the slinky, of crayons, play-dough, and more!
