Digital Services
Here we provide links to many of the digital services available to library patrons. All of these services are free with your Westhampton Free Library card!
3D Printer
To help protect health professionals from the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, the Westhampton Free Library donated its 3D printer to the Suffolk Cooperative Library System as part of a 3D printing farm initiative. All of the donated printers — 58 in total from area libraries — are being used to print face shields to help safeguard doctors and medical staff on the front lines. The printers, which have been online since March 30, can print up to 200 shields a day during two work shifts. All of the shields are being produced in conjunction with Stony Brook University’s iCreate program.
Virtual Reality
Virtual reality is a simulated experience that can be similar to or completely different from the real world. Applications of virtual reality can include entertainment and educational purposes. Other, distinct types of VR style technology include augmented reality and mixed reality.
Participate in our virtual reality (VR) programs or check out the equipment!
Users must be 12 years old or older due to the complex nature the fully immersive experience. We have several games and experiences available. Most experiences are for individuals, but exploring VR can be fun with a group of friends as well.
LibraryGeeks
LibraryGeeks can help with your computer, phone or hand held device on a first-come, first-served basis. These 15 minute sessions are informational. We do not do repairs.
