Art Workshop: Clay Animation

Yesterday, local art teacher Brain Massey hosted a Clay Art Workshop for our Tweens. He brought in a special type of oil based clay that doesn’t dry out like regular clay and can therefore be remodeled and reused. He also brought with him books filled with landscape photography so that these images could be used as backdrops for the clay animation pictures. Once the participants created their clay figures, they took a series of photographs using just the camera on Mr. Massey’s phone. When the photographs are scrolled through quickly, it appears as though the clay figures are moving and have come to life!
